Asians for Obama…techie stuff, a baby

I like this page on the Barack Obama campaign website: Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders for Obama

There’s even a link to a Korean language page: 버락 오바마 (BARACK OBAMA)
아태 이민자에 대한 오바마 의원의 입장,
A Strong Record of Support for Asian American and Pacific Islanders
아시아, 태평양계 이민자들을 위한 버락 오바마 의원의 지원 활동 내용

Cool!

Now, on to local tech stuff……………………………………

Tomorrow night I have a Monroe County Plan Commission meeting to attend; once again I can’t access the County Gov. website to provide you with a link to the agenda from the Planning pages. I’ve been waiting for pin-the-tail to upload the pdf for a very long time today…grrrr; may try again later because the packet is very big.

Last week when I mentioned the problem with accessing the County Gov site in another blog entry, I said I’d look into it. I did get a response…the implementation of Odyssey for the Justice system is a large part of the problem. It was explained to me that a combination of Odyssey implementation issues (which affect “firewalls…” among other things) also creates some lag time with being able to address the issues while important functions like Early Voting are taking place. Naturally, we can probably assume that funding issues are also being generated as a result for us locally. I hope the State will bear any of those burdens. Actually, I would outright demand that the State assumes financial burdens if this comes before the Council.

Basically, if Odyssey is indeed taking down our County Gov website, it sounds to me as if something is very dumb—shall we blame the State for this?

Questions and comments about Odyssey were raised in a post I wrote last November…and on April 1st, Kevin, a regular commentator to that past entry sent me a related link to this Courier Journal editorial describing incompatibility issues of a state system and Vanderburgh County service delivery: “Online court records The Issue: Tired of waiting for statewide system, Vanderburgh County moves forward on its own…State Supreme Court should resolve incompatibility”

And finally, baby makes for three topics today……………………………

Here’s a little fun…here’s me holding a friend’s baby—they say, “Practice makes perfect!” All I know is that babies are heavy!! Heavier than accordions!
