New Wave Council, Nov. 8, 3:55am results
Vic Kelson: 6,352 votes, a handy 1,173 MORE votes than “W”
Charles Newmann: 4,117 votes, 117 more than his opponent
Jill Lesh: uncontested
Six out of seven members of the 2007 Council are Democrats.
Democrat Mark Stoops ran a solid campaign in the district that will remain represented by a long-time (13 years) Council Republican. This is a tremendous loss for Monroe County citizens as he is one of our finest public servants. With 3,691 votes, Councilman Stoops was behind his opponent by 791 votes. His work as a maverick to forward progressive initiatives will hopefully be carried on by the new wave of Democrats in County Government.
More later on the success of County Commissioner Patrick Stoffers, Prosecutor Chris Gaal, Judge Teresa Harper, and Recorder Sam Allison. Congratulations to them all.

Watch subject. Bush and the Republicans were not protecting us on 9-11, and we aren’t a lot safer now. We may be more afraid due to george bush, but are we safer? Being fearful does not necessarily make one safer. Fear can cause people to hide and cower. What do you think? Why has bush turned our country from a country of hope and prosperity to a country of belligerence and fear.
Are we safer today than we were before?
We have lost friends and influenced no one. No wonder most of the world thinks we suck. Thanks to what george bush has done to our country during the past three years, we do!
