1Sky’s goal is to build a diverse, society-wide mobilization that will convince our federal government to take bold action by 2010. To identify the steps that our leaders need to take in order to shift our nation away from global warming and toward the prosperity of a green economy, we’ve engaged a network of leading scientists and economists to create the 1Sky Solutions. Click on any of the solutions below to learn more.
CREATE 5 MILLION GREEN JOBS in order to conserve 20% of our energy by 2015.
FREEZE CLIMATE POLLUTION levels now, then cut by at least 25% below 1990 levels by 2020 and 80% by 2050.
NO NEW COAL PLANTS that emit global warming pollution; invest in renewable energy.
Local Labor has heard from 1Sky– South Central Indiana Jobs With Justice is thinking of joining 1Sky alongside Hoosier Environmental Council, Indiana Forest Alliance, IBEW 2249 (at GE), and City of

Thank YOU for what you’re doing!
I will sign up for your updates and keep me posted on how I can help! I have already spoken with Councilman Kelson about the possibility of revisiting some economic development policies and us working in more do-able, tangibly specific climate change/energy-fuel conservation checklists that would generate points towards economic incentives for businesses.
I truly believe that if any idea is based on sound principles towards addressing climate change that good will follow with exponentially positive returns– and savings (saving the planet = saving money.)
The County Council passed a fuel conservation resolution– do you know about this? I can send you a copy. I drafted a lot of the language for that. Our Fuel & Fleet Committee now does an annual project of assessing our departments in tandem with our annual budget process…it sets a good example…
